Notifications won't show on screen after updating iPhone

Since downloading iOS 16 I get the tone for notifications but nothing appears on the screen.

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities. We understand that you hear Notifications on your iPhone, but don't see Banners. We'd like to help.


We recommend checking to see if your apps have the Banner Notification Style selected. Banners allow you to see notifications on screen. Here's how:

  1. Go to Settings and tap Notifications.
  2. Select an app under Notification Style. 
  3. Under Alerts, choose the alert style that you want.
