can I use my Apple Watch without pairing with my iPhone?

iOS 16 is a **** to me. It's slow, buggy, too much lags, slow animations too, it's a mess, but my new watch only works with iOS 16. My iPhone and my new Watch are currently connected, my question is if i restore the phone with iOS15 they will disconnect. What functions can I then use on the watch and will my data such as sleep, steps, calories, etc. be synchronized with my iPhone using iCloud?

You cannot downgrade iOS as it is not supported. And no, you cannot use an Apple Watch if it is not paired with an iPhone. Just an FYI, the Related Article link at the top of this page, which likely led you to this forum, is about how to use your Apple Watch if your iPhone is not nearby. It does mean you can use an Apple Watch which is not paired to an iPhone as this simply not possible.

You need to figure out why you're having issues with iOS 16 on your iPhone. There are many things which can cause issues. I would recommend scheduling an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar and let Apple check out your iPhone.

I just did some research and Apple has STOPPED signing iOS 15.6. It's your iPhone and I think you'll find you need to jailbreak your phone to even remotely downgrade it. If you mess it up along the way, no one here nor at Apple will support the possible mess you may create. Simply said, Apple does NOT support downgrading iOS.

If you are unwilling to get support from Apple, do as you wish. Just remember, you may make matters far worse and no one here will be able to help you.
