i undated my iphone mini 12 to ios 16 and i cannot play downloaded programmes in bbc iplayer

i updated my iphone mini 12 to ios 16 and discovered that downloaded programmes in bbc iplayer cannot be played well or not at all after the update. Before the update i had ios 15. something and i downloaded programmes as normal and played them using a dock connector or airplay into the tv screen ok but not any more now. can someone explain to me a remedy for this problem?
