Hey Esc-in-action,

We'd recommend trying the steps from this article as they can help resolve unexpected issues with apps on your Mac: If an app freezes or quits unexpectedly on Mac

"If an app freezes or quits unexpectedly on Mac

When an app on your Mac stops working, try these suggestions.

  1. If an app doesn’t quit as expected, or it’s unresponsive, you can force quit the app (you may lose unsaved changes). Choose Apple menu  > Force Quit, select the app in the dialog that appears, then click Force Quit.
  2. If the app quit, reopen it by clicking Reopen in the dialog that appears.
  3. Restart your Mac by choosing Apple menu > Restart.
  4. Make sure the app is compatible with your version of macOS.
  5. Open another file in the app. There may be a problem with the original file.
  6. Check for updates to your software.
  7. Disconnect any peripheral devices you just connected (for example, a printer). They may not be compatible with your version of macOS.
  8. Uninstall any app plug-ins or enhancements from other manufacturers.
  9. If you recently updated the app or macOS, a plug-in or enhancement you installed may no longer be compatible.
  10. Diagnose problems with your Mac to learn whether hardware you installed, such as additional memory, is incompatible, improperly installed, or defective."

If that doesn't help, you may want to test the issue in safe mode to help narrow that down further. This article explains how: How to use safe mode on your Mac

"How to use safe mode

Determine whether you're using a Mac with Apple silicon, then follow the appropriate steps:

Apple silicon

  1. Shut down your Mac.
  2. Turn on your Mac and continue to press and hold the power button until you see the startup options window.
  3. Select your startup disk, then press and hold the Shift key while clicking “Continue in Safe Mode.”
  4. Log in to your Mac. You might be asked to log in again.

Intel processor

  1. Turn on or restart your Mac, then immediately press and hold the Shift key as your Mac starts up.
  2. Release the key when you see the login window, then log in to your Mac.
  3. You might be asked to log in again. On either the first or second login window, you should see ”Safe Boot” in the upper-right corner of the window."

Thanks!

"R. Philips" - you really are a Troll, aren't you?

Updating the MacBook Pro to v. 12.6.1 (21G217) was of no help in resolving the "Random Screen Refresh" issue. Hopefully others experiencing the issue will respond here or in a related thread, since this is a real issue and deserves legitimate attention.

This Random Refresh is occurring for me in Apple Mail v.16.0 (3696.120.41.1.1)

Seriously, I posted this inside, on Apple Support of the very reason you are asking me to do again.

I have no need to take my new MacBook Pro in for a repair. The other options require brain surgeon intellect as to know what ticket number to insert.

This is as simple as can be described, a number of times and with an obviously growing number of users.

Can someone please just give a working solution. I don't want to go down a rabbit hole for three weeks trying out every long winded, tiresome shot-in-the-dark solution, just to end up back where I started after restoring a backup three times..

It can't be difficult (for all you clever brainiac people), and I certainly am not the only one experiencing this issue.
