Malware

One of my gmail accounts was automatically logged out of my phone. Shortly after, I rec'd a Google Security (confirmed sender) alert saying that it was logged out because a suspicious app carrying malware had possibly gained access to the account. I don't have any weird third-party apps that aren't legitimate, my phone isn't jailbroken with updated iOS and I am very careful on what I click on in general; I work in IT. I checked my recent network/data and app activity and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. I have other Google accounts on my phone that were seemingly not affected. I have since changed that account's password and reset my phone once again just to be as safe as possible but.... is it possible that this was a false positive on Google's end or are iphones more susceptible to invisible malware than I think?

Salutations Jcpinto87,

Though we’re not able to speculate on the email or security alert sent by Google, you can certainly report a security or privacy concern in an Apple product.

Here’s an article that goes over just how to do that. Report a security or privacy vulnerability

How to report a security or privacy vulnerability

If you believe that you've discovered a security or privacy vulnerability that affects Apple devices, software, or services, please report it directly to us on the web at Apple Security Research.

Reports should include specific product and software version(s) that you believe are affected; a technical description of the behavior that you observed and the behavior that you expected; the steps required to reproduce the issue; and a proof of concept or exploit.

After you submit your research on the web, you can track the progress of your report as it's being reviewed. We evaluate all eligible research for Apple Security Bounty rewards.

Keeping your device up to date is also always recommended, the latest is iOS 16.1.1, to be sure any security changes or updates are installed. Update your iPhone or iPad

Thanks.
