Make sure you do not have Theater Mode turned on.
Tap, hold then swipe the screen upwards from the bottom. Find the Theater Mode icon (two drama masks) and tap on it. With Theater Mode on, the icon is an orange color. Tap it again to turn it off.
The next thing to try if something isn’t working right is to restart your Apple Watch and its paired iPhone. If it fails to respond try a forced restart.
