Computer won't recognize any mouse I try, USB or Bluetooth.

MacbookAir won't recognize any mouse I try, USB or Bluetooth. Used to work OK. I ran Disk Utility, started in safe mode, restored over the internet - still no mouse.

Then, reinstall the macOS. After all this troubleshooting, that’s the best I can think of from here. System files will be put back to where they should be, and damaged system files will be replaced with clean ones.

Go Here: How to reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery - Apple SupportImportant: Be certain to create a backup of your Mac prior to all of this. That way, you can have something to restore from the Mac from, should anything go wrong with the reinstall. Once reinstalled, try this once more.

As I Said in my Above Reply:

Apple trashed "Reset the Bluetooth Module" in macOS Monterey.


So, Crate a New Administrator User:

For troubleshooting purposes, create a new administrator user, and then see if you get this error. If not, then it is an issue with the current user. If you do, then it is an issue with the entire macOS.

B. Verify the Connection:

First off, see if the headphones are is even seen: 

  1. Hold Down: the Option key
  2. Click: the Apple menu
  3. Choose: System Information or System Report
  4. Select: Bluetooth from the list on the left
  5. Report back if anything is seen.

Apple trashed "Reset the Bluetooth Module" in macOS Monterey.


Restart your Mac:

If are having these issues, then restart your Mac. Sometimes, major changes are made to the Mac, and then things become inactive until your restart once more. So, restart.

Troubleshooting M1 Mac Bluetooth:


About "Reset the Bluetooth Module":

See my User Tip: Use "Reset the Bluetooth module" to Fix Constant Bluetooth Disconnections - User Tip, Looking at my first comment on it, recommended to Apple that they bring this option back. They discontinued it on even macOS versions.


What Else to do:

Try the following, in the order provided...

  • Boot in Safe Mode:

[Hold Down: shift key, upon boot], In Safe ModeLogin Items do not run at login, certain preferences are set aside, and damaged system files are then reset. So, once booted in to Safe Mode, wait for 30 seconds, and then boot up normally, attempting another sync.


  • Restart your Mac. See if all works from there.

Pairing Button:

Is there a little dot that you much press underneath the devices for the, to sync?


Incompatibility:

I would also look at the original packaging (if you still have it), and make sure it is comp-able with your macOS version.


Contact the Manufacturer:

I would also contact the manufacturer, se what thoughts they have for you.
