iPhone 14 Pro is overheating and the battery drain

Hello

Does anyone of you also have a problem with the overheating iPhone 14 Pro? And a fast-discharging battery? I noticed that the discharge of the battery is caused by data transmission. Contacts send huge amounts of data to iCloud.

iPhone 14 Pro, iOS 16

for me, contacts in 1h download 1GB, when I turn off icloud synchronization, the battery lasts for 2 days

I have reported the problem to Apple support, it appeared for me after updating to 16.1, updating to 16.1.1 did not solve the problem

I had it happen twice since I got Iphone 14 pro. Both times phone got quite warm and 15% battery got drained in minutes.

First time I was using Tapatalk app, read some reviews on app store it happened to other people too so I uninstalled it.

Second time happened when using Glovo app.

These apps were noted for high battery usage in app details.

These should by no means be resource intensive apps, I don’t see how this is so intensive for one of the most powerful processors in the market, something needs to be done about this!

I had the overheating and battery drain on my 14pro. Noted on one such occasion under “battery” it showed camera usage for 1hr 57m that day - crazy. For my own peace of mind I have switch off the “always on” feature and return the phone to the Home Screen before going out. No subsequent reoccurrence of the overheating - yet.

This is 100% a software bug, not anything you’ve done wrong nor a hardware issue. This is happening on various iPhone models running iOS 16.1.1 and 16.1.2. All we can do is hope enough people are reporting it and maybe Apple fixes it in iOS 16.2 expected to be released this week. Please report back after iOS 16.2 is released to confirm whether or not it fixed your issue.

I had the same problem, and after 15 gigs of cellular data, support and a phone scan from the genius bar, was told my phone was fine and they suggested a complete reset, and install from scratch! that has taken up huge amounts of time on my side, setting up and organizing all of my apps! I thought I was in the clear and last thursday my phone used up 5.9 gigs of cellular data and overheated! After looking for the culprit it has been System Services through Documents & Sync. The Picture I am uploading considered my phone was reset 3 weeks ago.I have gone through several tutorials on how to save on cellular data, and overheating with no luck.

I am open to suggestions!!

I just got the iPhone 14 a couple weeks ago and I have iOS 16.2. This is definitely still a problem with my phone. It pauses charging a lot because it’s too hot. Even if it doesn’t feel that hot to the touch it will say it’s too hot and not charge. Even with low power mode on, battery still drains fast when I’m work hardly using my phone.

This happened with my iPhone 11 about a year and a half into having it. Despite having Apple Care and paying into the replacement program, Apple refused to replace it unless I paid the full price of a phone up front (I was unemployed and this was during Covid), so I held onto it until I finally gave up and bought an iPhone 14 about a month ago. Already, it is regularly overheating and draining. Are all tech companies just taking a dump in quality? This doesn't seem unique to Apple. Regardless, it is very disruptive to work and daily life, especially for the price of these phones and services.
