Facebook Marketplace messages

I sell stuff on Facebook Marketplace occasionally - personal stuff, not a business.

I have an iPhone 12mini and an iPad Air. Just today, my messages disappeared on my iPad when I access Messenger. They are still there on my iPhone. Marketplace Assistant on my iPad still works, but all my messages are blank and no new ones coming in.

Everything was working fine until today. What happened, and how can I fix it?
