Ventura not showing battery levels for AirPods Pro and BeatsX

Before upgrading to Ventura, I could easily check the battery levels on my AirPods Pro and BeatsX earphones by just turning them on (or just opening the case lid in the case of the AirPods Pro). Even if they weren't paired with my computer, the battery levels would show up under the Sound menu bar icon.

After upgrading to Ventura, the BeatsX battery levels only show up if I explicitly pair the earphones to the computer. The AirPods Pro occasionally show their battery levels if I open and close the case a couple of times, but it's not consistent.

Anyone else seeing this?
