iPhone health app flights of stairs accuracy

Why does my iPhone under count the number of flights of stairs I do each day. I have done 3 floors (2 ten step flights) 4 times today yet the iPhone says I only did 5 floors?

The pedometer on my iPhone 14 with IOS 18.2.1 does not update steps in a timely manner I was walking today and the steps in Health were 6311. I walked about 20 minutes more and the steps were still 6311. I exited the app, came back in, same result. closed the app, same result. I walked about 20 minutes more and then the steps were 105xx. I was probably in an area with intermittent or no cell phone service ; walked another 20 minutes in an area with cell phone coverage, steps were still 105xx. Stopped for about a minute, looked multiple times at the app, no update of steps. Walked to the car and steps were 13k. It is rather annoying to have these large gaps between updates. Is there any way to force Health to update the steps more frequently?

Apple Health - Floors Climbed Hi, I’ve just migrated to an iPhone 13 mini it seems not to be recording the floors climbed, my daily average has dropped significantly for similar walks ?

IPhone 14 Pro Max issue with Step counting I'm having a issue with my I phone 14 Pro Max when trying to use the Health 'step counter' . It seems to be counting maybe 1/4 of all the actual steps walked. I did a test this morning with my older IPhone 7, it counted just over 2000 steps where as the IPhone 14 Pro Max counted 705 over the same distance ! I've run this test over several days and still get inconsistent readings. I've turned it off and on, have the latest IOS update, cell data and wifi both on connected... at a loss here. Any thoughts ?? :-)
