Hi, ruinedtrex… do you have a backup of your iPhone on your Mac ? I have an older Mac Pro, so I use iMusic for that. Assuming your iPhone can still hold a charge ( and is still somewhat functional) plug in the supplied Lightning to USB cable, with the Lightning end going into your iPhone 8. Make sure your iPhone is turned on, as is your Mac ( or PC) … your iPhone should show up under Devices on the left hand side of your screen, and you should see an iPhone like icon pop up, sorta looks like this : 📱 then Click on device and do a Backup… you should see “ now syncing with Mac”…. And it’ll do it.. if not, if it’s kinda an emergency… and syncing with iTunes doesn’t quite work, well, you might want to consider an iPhone data recovery app/utility… all of ‘em you have to pay for, but some offer a free trial… but with certain limitations, eg number of files you can recover… or you can use it once… I used this with my iPhone 7 Plus, and it worked ok for me… it was strictly a one-shot deal, but it worked fine, got all the data, downloaded all the info , here’s the link : https://www.easeus.com/landing/mac-data-recovery-software.htm?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI7vbDh8ep-wIVE3xvBB04hw7zEAAYASAAEgIPjPD_BwE… your mileage may vary, though
