Trusting self-signed root CA certificates not available in iPadOS 16.2

I’ve used a self-signed root CA certificate that was approved prior to iPadOS 16 and continues to be visible in the General->About->Certificate Trust sub-panel ofSystem Preferences. However, when I migrated to a new tablet, and restored the configuration, the certificate wasn’t there. I thought I’d just re-install the self-signed root certificate. I was able to download the profile and install it, but it never shows up in the Certificate Trust sub-panel (or anywhere else a far as I can find); the option to trust any root certificates (but the only other things it theoretically could apply to are the iPadOS 16 beta certificates) just never shows. Does anyone know what has changed?

Yes I’ve submitted feedback.

If you are running a beta version of iPadOS, as detailed in your description, you should have full expectation of encountering issues and potential bugs. Beta software, by definition, may include unfinished features.

The Terms of Use that govern participation within these Support Communities do not permit discussion of beta software or associated bugs.

If you are currently enrolled in a beta programme and wish to return to using the current production version, this support page provides the necessary information to remove the beta from your iPad:

iPadOS 16.1.1 is the most current production release.
