I'm afraid my airpods might not be "genuine", what should I do besides looking at the model number?

Hello ramster22,

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities.

We understand you're looking to check if your AirPod Pros are genuine, so let's see if the following information can help out.

For starters, we would recommend confirming if the serial number listed in Settings aligns with what's on your AirPods Pro charging case. For assistance with locating your serial number on the AirPods Pro charging case, take a look below. You can locate the steps to check in Settings here: Find the serial number of your AirPods - Apple Support

AirPods or AirPods Pro

If you have AirPods or AirPods Pro, your AirPods and your charging case share a serial number. You can find the serial number on the underside of the lid of your Charging Case, Wireless Charging Case, MagSafe Charging Case, Lightning Charging Case for AirPods (3rd generation), or MagSafe Charging Case for AirPods Pro (2nd generation).

Once you've confirmed these match, check out the service and support coverage with your serial number using the following link. If you have any questions with what you see, be sure not to provide any personal information, including the serial number. The Apple Support Communities is a public user-to-user space, so we wouldn't want those details shared.
