Ethernet connection gets glitchy using Youtube App (purchased in App Store 1-2 years ago).

Using Apple TV 4k, purchased Nov 8th, 2022, after 5-10 minutes the streaming gets glitchy. Then stops completely, black screen.

Ethernet is to wireless router.

Works with Chromecast to same Router/TV.

Ethernet disconnected, wireless ATV works fine, no issues.

Three suggestions:

  1. Try using a different ethernet cable.
  2. Try a different port on the router.
  3. Check the ethernet ports (both devices) for cleanliness and damages, i.e. good electrical contacts and ruggedness of the connection.

So I think this issue is corrected.

There are 2-3 potential issues, and not sure which one would have fixed this. Here is my fix, and analysis.

  1. I had a Chromecast (not plugged into TV, so not active on device.) with ethernet. I removed this cord, and used it on Apple TV 4k. No issues. So, it could have been the ethernet cord. Original ATV Cord was new Cat5e cable out of box so I do not think cord was issue.
  2. Could have been Comcast Cable not trusting new ATV Device. Occaisionally with new devices, cable connection will not accept new devices without interventions.
  3. Could have been ATV Software issue. Some disconnect between Ethernet and Wireless. Wireless did work. It is running on ethernet now.

Thanks for recommendation. Most likely fix is cable, not sure why.
