i changed my MacBook login to username and password to see what it is and when I tried logging back in with the correct details it didn’t work. I can’t do anything. I tried booting it up into recovery mode but that doesn’t work, it just boots it up normally into this. This is super annoying and the laptop is super expensive so I don’t want to loose anything on it.

Did it work before you changed it or no?
Your user name does not change.. at least it is not recommended to change a user name
Did you create a new user?
Do you see you old user under the Apple drop down.. do you get that far..
Do you have a backup?

I have a backup, i was able to log into it before but i don’t know where to find the right username and password. Before it just said the user and then to enter password but now it says username and password but when I put it in correctly, it says it’s wrong
I’ve figured it out. I’ve been putting my last name on the username aswell as my first even though it was just my first lol. Sorry
