Possible bug in macOS 13.0.1 Calendar: not updating meetings from Exchange ICS files
Hi everyone,
I have someone who sends me meetings from an Exchange server and they appear as .ics attachments. For a new meeting this works fine - I click on the .ics file in the meeting invite email and the meeting is added to Calendar, along with all the details.
When they reschedule a meeting that is in the past, I also get an email with an .ics file that has the update meeting day and time. But when I open that .ics file, Calendar highlights the existing past meeting and does not give me any indication that there is a new day/time for the meeting.
I checked the .ics file and it does have the new day and time, so it looks like Calendar does not use the updated information in the .ics file for some reason, for past meetings. If I delete the past meeting and then open the .ics file, Calendar does create a new meeting with the correct day and time.
The desired behaviour for Calendar is to update an existing meeting, even when in the past, using the information in the new .ics file. A dialog box could prompt the user to either update the existing meeting and delete the old meeting, or create a new meeting as well as leaving the old meeting in place (could also be a default behaviour setting in Calendar settings).
Does anyone else see this behaviour in macOS Calendar?
All the best
Mark
