Using 360º Color Solid as layered graphic causes issues

There's an old joke that goes:

Man: Doc, it hurts when I do this.

Doctor: Then don't do that!

This may be the answer to this issue.

I found that when using the 360º Color Solid as a part of layered graphics (sometimes) causes issues when dissolving to another clip. (Using a color solid is an old habit from FCP6.)

A complete demo of the issue here:

Any template labeled 360 should only be used in 360 projects.

If your project is not 360, use a Color Solid, not a 360 Color Solid.

Thanks again Luis. I guess I answered my own question with the old joke, huh?

Coming from FCP6, I just picked the first thing labeled "color solid."

Interestingly, I do not see any other generator labeled "color solid" except those for 360. Maybe "Custom" is what I'm looking for?

I scoured the fcp manual for an explanation of why it was even called 360º. I guess some things are to be discovered on your own (hence, my frustration with this transition from legacy fcp 😤.)

Looks like I'm not the only one using 360 color solid as a 2D color solid. https://youtu.be/RCLU7WkVkYc
