"Use Wi-fi to Restore..." message

I keep getting this message (see pic) on my new iPhone 14 pro. I'm usually connected to wi-fi so why has it not finished downloading whatever it needs to? Also, I tap the "Use Wi-Fi" option, but not even sure what that does, cause I'll get the message again at a later time. Please advise.

I solved the issue. It was just somehow stuck on the restore process. Had nothing to do with wifi settings or connections, or apps. All I had to do was “stop” the restore, and then start it over. But the notifications never told me that. They just kept simply saying that I needed to connect to wifi, and upon doing that, nothing changed.


This all began when I just purchased a new iPhone and did a standard migration old phone to new. Nothing out of the ordinary. But it got stuck somewhere on the Restore, and wasn’t smart enough to just say “I’m stuck”, or better yet just resolve it in the background.

Check your WiFi Router / Modem for --> Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points ...


Connecting to Wifi is the first part and then getting connected to the Internet is the second

  1. If you connect to Wifi, doesn't necessarily mean you are connected to the internet. If you are not connected to wifi could be a problem with iPhone settings or Router/Modem Settings
  2. If you are not connected to the internet is the sole issue of Router / Modem Settings. Contact your ISP immediately
