i cant login to my mcbook air because of arrow in box

I can’t log into my MacBook Air, there is a box with an upward arrow after login prompt

That means a Shift key has been pressed or the Caps Lock key is "on".


The Caps Lock LED status may not be accurate when initially turning on your Mac; in other words it may be illuminated when Caps Lock is actually "off" and vice versa. Try pressing it once and determine if the "up arrow" goes away.
