The ringtone on my phone starts strong then fades to a whimper

Does anyone have a problem with the ringer on thei phone? Recently mine began ringing strong then dies to a whimper. Help

If this happens while you are looking at the phone, you may have Attention Aware turned on.

Settings>Accessibility>Face ID & Attention>Attention Aware Features.
