Electronic loving Ants

Hello Community,
I just recently moved to Bangkok, Thailand from Seattle, WA and have discovered a strange phenomenon - certain ants love electronics. Due to the high expense of my computer, I am slightly concerned that they might do some kind of internal damage (i.e., if they die or decide to go after something). Has anyone in the southern states or tropics noticed this? I'm going to ask some Thais here about it, but I was wondering if anyone here knew something. Also, I do not have any crumbs, or sweet liquid, or much of anything in the computer - I've only had the MacBook Pro a couple months and have used a keyboard cover the entire time.
In case you are dubious of ants loving electronics see the article below:

Thanks,

You're not the only one. Red ants to be exact, that attract to electronic. It attract to the heat of your computer and the constant whirling noise. If you leave your mac or printer on, even on stand by mode, ants will start going in and making nest. The best way to get rid of them without damaging your gear is to turn it off, the ants will slowly move out of your internal components. Do not use any spray.

This is another way of nature saying, save the planet and turn your bloody gear off! lol
