I tried to install Ventura 13.0.1 and I get this message.
I have tired to install via wifi only, via network cat 5 only and via safe mode.
Any other suggestions?

All fixed. Followed these instructions (Ventura 13.1 Failed to Prepare Update - Apple Community) to reset the NVRAM on my MacBook Pro and the update worked as expected. Now on 13.2. Good one to remember before a complete wipe and load.
Welcome so issue is fixed.
Though, it is disturbing that the computer had to jump through some many hoops.
This could be a potential issue in the future as new update become available.
Possible issues;
1 - Third Party Security Software installed and interfering with the download process and / or installing process.
2 - Lack of Empty Space on the drive. It usually is best to keep 15% - 20% of the Total Drive Capacity as Empty Space at all times. This would minimize issues
Pleased we were finally able to get the 13.0.1 installed
Trying to update to 13.2...same problem...removed VPN software, removed AV software, booted in safe mode, tried OS recovery...same issue...really don't want to do a full wipe/erase and load but looks like that is my only option. Very frustrating.
This is the same problem I was trying to describe above, glad someone else has the same issue.
Was it starting in safe mode and waiting the 10 sec that did it? I tried a full install via MacOS Recovery and even that failed. Will try the suggestions here.
When you say "try logging into iCloud" do you mean via browser? From settings I am already logged into iCloud.
