Blocking email broken on iPhone

Spam emails from blocked contacts (who need a punch in the face) are still coming into my iOS Mail inbox

iPhone SE2 iOS 15.71, yes the setting is checked to send blocked to trash, and yes I have restarted my phone, and no I’m not wiping it and restoring (the last apple support I spoke with who suggested that, never even bothered to ask/recommend I do a full backup to cloud and to Mac BEFORE wiping the phone), and no I’m not ready for 16.1

(why does so much of Apples stuff just not work right???).

TIA anyone solves this.

Maybe they are using subdomains to send emails to you. This is a menace, I agree. You need to block every email that reaches you using a different subdomain.

Root domain: hello@menace.com

Subdomain1: hello@3.menace.com

Subdomain2: hello@yes.menace.com

and so on...
