Messages conversation getting pinned to top

Recently I clicked on a message to respond and that conversation got pinned to the top of all my conversations even days after texting other people. How can I return this conversation back to regular status (unpinned)

Control click the message and you should see an unpin option

In iMessage - when you are in an individual conversation, the message space takes up the whole screen and there is no back button or arrow to return to your other conversations on the left hand side. You are forced to kill the messages app and restart the app. Then and only can can you once again view the full list of iMessage conversations.

Can’t delete conversation in messages Is anyone experiencing a bug in iOS 16.0.2 where you are unable to remove a conversation in the messages app? Removing the conversation immediately puts it back. Only happens with one user (SMS) — they are not pinned. The following does NOT work: Swiping left and deleting. Tapping edit > select messages > delete. Pressing and holding conversation > delete. Restarting the phone. Removing and re-adding the Messages app to the Home screen. Toggling airplane mode. Blocking/Unblocking the user (just to cover all bases). Removing the user from contacts/address and adding them back.

Thanks for your prompt response! I also found help on youtube. Pinning is a feature I was unaware of.
