completely unable to connect to SMB

Hi, i have 2 MACs: first with Intel processor, second with M1.

I want to sharing files but:

  • connecting from second Mac (M1) to Intel works very well
  • connecting from first Mac (intel) to second (M1) won't connect and I can't enter username and password

I called to Apple but nobody can't help me - solutions don't works and support don't have idea...

I remove and create all from start but it still don't work..

have you any tips?

I think that sharing files on local wi-fi is a very simple technology, but as you can see Apple has a very big problem with this sharing.

Help me pls.

@Sharhari thank you, I hope we are getting closer to the solution.

Accessing files via Terminal (server) works.

however, I care about two-way exchange of files - that is, for example, that Intel-Mac can also upload files to folders on M1-Mac.

You can access your files via Terminal.

Your advice is instantaneous because it shows that the M1-Mac allows an incoming connection, but unfortunately the option to share file folders does not work all the time.

I will translate:

There was a problem connecting to the server "Mac14"

Perhaps this server does not exist or is not available at the moment. Check the server name or IP address, make sure the network connection is working properly, then try again.

Run below command in terminal from your M1-Mac.

python3 -m http.server

This should initiate a web server and you can access M1-Mac with IP address in your local network(wi-fi).

On your Intel-Mac

In web-browser(safari) navigate to the IP of M1-Mac followed by the port number displayer in the output.

ex: http:192.168.1.2:8000

where 8000 here after the colon is the port number.

For command Ref see this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOrlYzqXPa8&t=588s

Hope it helps.

Hi,

I think I can close the case and thread. I did various activities every day, such as: delete users, create users, turn file sharing on and off, restart Mac computers. The last thing I did was follow @Sharhari's advice and accessing files by creating a server worked, but folder sharing still didn't work. However, that day Mac (Intel) logged back into Mac (M1) without any additional action ...

I don't know what the problem was and what helped, but it has been working properly since yesterday.

thank you for your support and helpful solutions.
