iCloud paused notification on new iPhone

Got a new phone and now when on the messages app it says “iCloud paused” how can I solve this?

How long does this usually take? This is the second day

The process is probably stalled if it has taken that long. Try the following:

(1) Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

  • Press and quickly release Volume UP button
  • Press and quickly release Volume DOWN button
  • Press and Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears and then release the Side button (Can take up to 20 seconds. (DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF). 


(2)  If the above does not restart the iCloud syncing process, then - Open Settings ➡️ Apple ID (Your Name at Top) ➡️ iCloud ➡️ Messages: Toggle this switch OFF and then after a few seconds Toggle it back to ON. Check whether this action restarts the syncing process.
