As above- when I send a text to someone in my contacts, after sending the text the person’s name disappears and all that shows in the text string is the phone number. Please advise how to make this not happen. I do not want to lose my contacts when I send a text. Restarting the phone and signing out & in of Apple does not fix the problem. Thanks

If you add the Contact name back after it deletes, does it happen again?
Is this happening with multiple Contacts? If so, do you sync with iCloud?

Since you are syncing with iCloud and still see the name of the contact change to their contact number, we recommend reaching out to Apple Support and have them take a look into this with you. They can be reached by going to Get Support.

Thanks for the advice. When I add the contact back it seems to stay. It happens to people I text infrequently (but i don’t want to lose their contact info) it happens fairly frequently, again with people I text only occasionally.
it happens right after I send the text and I notice it because when they reply it only has their phone number with no name.
I sync to iCloud every night and it shows my backups are successful.
