Contact names not showing in messages

Out of the blue my contact names are not showing on several of my contacts in Messages. I can find them when I type their name in the To field but then once sent it only shows their phone number. Did all the fixes I found online and updated phone software. Anyone else and any solution?

Hey sashald,

Are you contacts being synced to iCloud? If so, make sure iCloud Contacts is still enabled in Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Contacts. If you do not see Contacts, tap Show All, You should then see Contacts.

If it was already turned on, toggle it off and then toggle back on.

If issue persists, go to Settings > Contacts, toggle Short Name off and then back on.

Take care.
