Deleted Users File/Folder

I found over 600GB of photos on my deleted users file. Having storage problems and needed to find my photo library so I finally found 600GB of them here and have no idea why here or what the deleted user file is for actually. What did I do to get them there? what is the file intended to be used for? iMac 12.6.1 Thank you in advance.

Folder showing up under "Volumes" I have a copy of the folder I keep my Lightroom photos in (Working Photos) that shows up under Macintosh HD>Volumes>Working Photos. The Working Photos folder in under the Pictures folder. The one under Volumes is not up to date, none of my photos from April show up in it. Where did this come from and how do I make it go away without risking my photos? Working Photos is 876 GB ... I am on a Studio M1 Max with 64GB RAM and 4TB SSD (1.75 TB free space) running Ventura 13.3.1.Attached find screen shot.

Need some clarity for the folder "ExternalEditSessions" on my Mac This obviously has to do with the Photos app and here's the path of the folder in question: /Users/[ME]/Pictures/Photos Library.photoslibrary/private/com.apple.Photos/ExternalEditSessions There are currently 58 numbered folders within it containing images that I've likely edited from the Photos app with either Preview or Photoshop. Some if not all of these images I no longer have use for or they've been sent out into the world for their one-use purpose. One or two I checked are no longer shown in the recent photos folder within the app and have probably been deleted by choice. I went to the recently deleted folder and deleted those. Does this ExternalEditSessions folder automatically clean itself out? Is there harm in manually dumping those numbered folders, each containing an image no longer needed?

How can I recover deleted photos after emptying trash on iMac? While trying to clean up my photos ready for a new computer I accidentally deleted 'Pictures' in 'Finder' and and then emptied Trash. Can i get them back? If the worst comes to the worst they seem to all be on my phone and iPad BTW i get this message Photos cannot find the System Photo Library named “Photos Library.photoslibrary” [Re-Titled by Moderator]

The Deleted Users folder is just that — it contains disk images that can be used to restore deleted User Accounts.

Drag it to the Trash. You will have to authenticate.

Only by restoring that deleted User Account. To do that read Restore a deleted user on Mac - Apple Support.

Is there some way I could look at this 600GB of photos to make sure they should be trashed? I am the only user for this Mac and have been.
