I found over 600GB of photos on my deleted users file. Having storage problems and needed to find my photo library so I finally found 600GB of them here and have no idea why here or what the deleted user file is for actually. What did I do to get them there? what is the file intended to be used for? iMac 12.6.1 Thank you in advance.

Only by restoring that deleted User Account. To do that read Restore a deleted user on Mac - Apple Support.

The Deleted Users folder is just that — it contains disk images that can be used to restore deleted User Accounts.
Drag it to the Trash. You will have to authenticate.
Is there some way I could look at this 600GB of photos to make sure they should be trashed? I am the only user for this Mac and have been.
