What is the largest external hard drive a 2016 iMac 27" (Monterrey) can support? I want to upgrade my Time Machine and backup discs, but there used to be limits to the size of hard drives.

Thanks, that is helpful. There used to be a 6TB limit but I am seeing a lot of 18-20TB drives out there. I need something to transfer all my Time machine files to and get rid of these 4-5 externals I have attached. Do you have yours partitioned or just use the straight 14TB?
