Apple series 5 vs Apple SE (1st gen)

Hi everyone, my girlfriend broke her Apple watch series 5 (44mm) early this year and I want to give her a new watch for Christmas. Walmart will have the Apple Watch SE (1st gen) on sale on Black Friday where you can pick up the Apple watch SE 44mm (1st gen) for $180. I am wondering if I should buy that watch or if I should buy the Series 5 or SE (2nd gen). They are more expensive, but since the SE (1st gen) has discontinued in production, I am worried that it will only get maybe 2-3 more years in support.

What do you guys think? Are there a lot of differences between these watches?
