How do I manually turn on do not disturb ios 16?

Hi, after installing IOS 16.1.1, I cannot seem to have the possibility to turn on "do not disturb" manually. In the "do not disturb" section, there is no way of turning something on, there is nothing to be pressed or activated.

This infuriated me too but I discovered quite by accident that you can swipe up on the Home Screen - like you would to access the flashlight— and there is a do not disturb oval. Tap on it ONCE and do not disturb comes on without any of the other nonsense. Same procedure to turn it off

Okay, here's a screenshot of the 'Toggle Disturb' shortcut as a bookmark and as a widget:

And here's the iCloud link:

Toggle Disturb

...Tapping that link should show a blue Get Shortcut button at the bottom – the shortcut will be added to your shortcuts collection. Then, to add its small icon to your Home Screen:

Add a shortcut to the Home Screen on iPhone or iPad

Or, for the large icon:

Set up and run shortcuts from a widget on iPhone or iPad

Starting with the first screen you get when you unlock your phone, scroll up from the bottom of the screen (like you were going to turn on the flashlight or set an alarm) and there will be an oval labelled "focus" (I'm sorry, I misidentified this first oval as "do not disturb"). Tap "focus" oval and you will get the "do not disturb" oval. Tap it, and you are done. Repeat to undo

My language isn't Italian, but guessing with the help of Google Translate, doesn't this work?...

The Focus feature just added another additional step in the process of turning on Do Not Disturb. That drove me crazy. Someone in a post I wrote about this put up a link to widget that gave me an icon on my home page that allows me to turn on/off from there, in one step. And speaking of do not disturb, when is it going to be possible to choose what kind of notifications I can set up? I'd like to be able to block texts from certain people when DNB is on, but still allow phone calls from them. To the best of my understanding, that's not possible. You can enable notifications, but you can't choose some...you have to choose all.

The Speak actions in that shortcut can be easily eliminated:

  • Open the Shortcuts app
  • You'll see the blue Toggle Disturb shortcut
  • Tap the white disc containing three dots (…)
  • You'll see each action has an "x" in a disc to the right
  • For each of the two Speak actions, tap that "x"
  • Tap Done at upper right
