my shift key is blocked

My shift key in my MacBook Air is stuck with green light on. I tried to restart and shut down several times. Any idea on how to help? I can’t even log in at the moment

Unblocking the Shift Key:

There is not green light for the shift key? Please reply back with a photo.


So, Some Thoughts:


Reset the SMC and NVRAM:

  • (Applies to Intel-based Macs only)Sometimes changes(i.e. updates) are made to the system and then settings (i.e. for USB Ports/Keyboard) become manipulated, technically.  So, reset both on your Mac.
  • Use An External Keyboard: It doesn't have to be Apple brand. You might need this adapter: USB-C to USB A Adapter - Apple
