i have roku expree set up on tv .airp;lay appears on screen im trying to cast my apple ipad pro thru airplay it will not cast. both on same wifi ann networks what to do

i have set up roku express on tv. Im trying to cast my ipad pro thru airplay on to tv. both are on the same network and password when i hit the casting logo nothing happens. all the setup is correct the screen does not give me a code to scan what to do. im a bit older and i guess i need more help with this new technology
