Screen time content restrictions

I want to white list websites for my son, and not just allow the entire internet. But then the school wants him to use websites that I haven’t yet whitelisted. Why is it not possible to send a whitelist request from his phone to mine, just like a request for extra time? Instead he has to WhatsApp me the address and I have to manually add it.
