Update 16.1.1 = battery crazy

what about my iphone? I have an iphone 8. I did the latest update (16.1.1). Now my iphone battery is a disaster. In seconds it loses its charge. I have to put my iphone to charge on. This is normal?

I have iPhone 11…since update battery dies within hours! I updated yesterday….noticed battery dying quickly…went to settings-battery to see what was using so much..nothing unusual battery health 84%. Today battery completely dead in 3 hours…went to settings- battery and battery health is now 82%. Something weird happened with this latest update…..this is not good!

I'm glad that's figured out. The long process of applying an iOS update to an old iPhone 8 with its already weak battery can be the proverbial "straw that broke the camel's back." Then the iOS update is mistakenly blamed.

Yes, a newer phone would be good, but your iPhone 8 will sell better with a new battery:

...Or simply trade it in with its original battery at Apple:

Thanks for your interest and your questions, but I have no idea how to know the % you ask. I am a simple user of an iPhone and the only thing I want to know is if the problem that I am observing, as a result of the 16.1.1 update, has a solution or not. If an iPhone 8 phone with a heavily used battery cannot be upgraded to 16.1.1, Apple should make it clear. Thanks for your interest and I can see myself buying a new phone.
