Mark up in iPad Photos not working (answer)

I had this problem. I would try to mark up with my finger and no tool would work to draw on the image.

Solution was to click the 3 dots to the right of the drawing tool bar. Then toggle on draw with finger.

Markup on iPad is not working, I have noticed that I can not edit my photos or screenshots with “markup”. I used to do this all the time. I can no longer edit photos/screenshots for the last few weeks maybe longer. Yes I have tried with both the apple pen and another pen along with my finger. I have rebooted my iPad a few times and it is up to date with updates. I have read another users same issue but they realized it was about there apple pen. Any other people having same issue? thanks

Photo editing not working since latest update Since the latest iOS update, photo editing is not working properly. For example, if I add a text box and then try to edit the text (colour, font, size), the options flash up and disappear before you can choose any of them. The text options box crashes. This is essential to my work, so I need this ability back ASAP.

I am unable to save photos after I placed stickers I'm trying to make use of the new sticker features, but I cannot save the image after placing down any stickers. For more information, I use the edit option in the gallery on my iPad Air 5th Gen, system is iPadOS 17.1 I was able to place down a few stickers and save, but now whenever I try to place a sticker and save I get this message: "Unable to Save Changes" "An error occured while saving. Please try again later." However when I write with the pencil tools or import images it works just fine. Any ideas how to fix this?
