It says “Collaboration not available”, when I try to collaborate on a note or share a link to a note, but my phone is up to date and it gives me an error even before I type in a contact to share with. Using 16.1.1 and I have more than enough iCloud space. Tried restarting my phone too.

I found a fix on the support page.......
Go to settings
Click on your name
Click on ICloud
Click on APPS USING ICLOUD
Go to ICloud Drive – turn it to ON
Scroll down to Freeform - turn it to ON
Mine was off, but this fixed the issue!!

Again, are your Notes password protected?
Check Settings > Notes > Password
Please try the steps again, follow them carefully.....it seems to have worked for most people. Hoping this helps.

Omg, thanks so much 2choclabs! I was pulling out my hair trying to figure out the problem the last 2-3 months. It finally worked when I turned on the iCloud Drive and Freeform.
I'm running 16.3 as well. Did you go to your name under settings, click on ICloud, make sure ICloud Drive is in the ON position, then right below is Show All, go down to Freeform, turn to On.
Okay so I’ve had the same problem and Choclabs suggestions didn’t work but I Tried this and my collaboration is back on track:
Go to settings
Click on your name
Click on ICloud
Click on APPS USING ICLOUD
Go to ICloud Drive – turn it to ON it Off
Tap Manage Storage
And then click Back
do the Same with Notes

just share your note via mail directly.. instead of sharing it on any other apps. I just did mine, and it works.
I’m also having this issue. I have no passwords set up and also cannot receive any shared notes. I’ve had multiple friends try to share notes with me and they get the same notification. Plenty of space, no drawings that need to be updated… at a loss
Assuming your notes are not password protected, be certain you paid attention to this sentence from the article linked above.
I have the same issue and none of my notes are password protected.
We have the exact same issue and can say we have done everything suggested here before even searching this forum.
this is a bug in >iOS 16, along with massive battery drain.

Doesn’t seem to be working on my end. iCloud drive is on, note is not password protected, both mine and my partners phones are updated with the latest ios 16.3.1 software, both phones have plenty of on device storage as well as iCloud storage available. Any suggestions aside from the standard level 1 tech support stuff like “turn off your device and turn back on”?
Deleted all my notes and tried again, still getting this
