What I think regarding the necessity of Pages has no significance to your need or lack of need for Pages.

If LibreOffice does all you need, then no other word processing application is 'necessary' for you.

Exporting from pages I can no longer export a document from pages to word, as it no longer gives this option now you have to export to office suite which costs me more money.
