Partner and I travelling together, she is getting constant notifications that my AirPods are with her. How can we stop this?

My partner and I are traveling together, and she is constantly getting notifications that my AirPods are traveling with her. It’s because we are together, they are in my pocket. How can we disable this? I still want findmy on my airpods in case I lose them, we just want to stop the notifications for her! Cheers

It seems to me this portion of the article is pertinent:

”To disable the AirTag, AirPods, or Find My network accessory and stop it from sharing its location, tap Instructions to Disable and follow the onscreen steps. After the AirTag, AirPods, or Find My network accessory is disabled, the owner can no longer get updates on its current location. You will also no longer receive any unwanted tracking alerts for this item.”

I did have a read of that one before posting, just read it top to bottom for the second time. There actually nothing in there on how to solve this. There is a part about how if we have family sharing enabled that we can turn off the notification indefinitely. But we don’t have family sharing, and it doesn’t actually explain how to do it regardless !

Yes, I understand you wish to disable the notifications about your AirPods on her Apple device (presumably an iPhone).

So simply use her iPhone to identify your AirPods in her Find My app, and apply the procedure I quoted above. Even if she owns her own AirPods, yours will appear separately in her Find My (unless you made the mistake of sharing an Apple ID, which should never be done).
