Metropolitan Apple Watch face changes to pils when wrist is down

How do I stop the Apple Watch’s new Metropolitan (on IOS 16) watch face from changing to pils when my wrist is down???

SO annoying!

I love the new watch face but what do I have to do to stop it changing to pils when my wrist is down??

I can’t wear my watch any tighter. When I my wrist is down the face changes to pils. When I lift my wrist to read the watch it is not flat on on my wrist. I can read it but it has NOT changed to numbers - it still has pils on the face.

I have to either touch the watch face or twist the band slightly to flatten it in my wrist THEN it changes to numbers. SO annoying.

The watch face should stay numbers and NOT change to pils. There are other Metropolitan watch face choices that have the numbers as pils. WHY does the numbers choice of the Metropolitan face have to change to pils when my wrist is down?!?! Makes NO sense.

Apple if you are listening - FIX THIS PLEASE!!!!!!

Maybe this will explain better:

This is the Metropolitan watch face with numbers (this is what I want to appear on the watch all of the time)

this is what the watch face looks like when I drop my arm down to my side, then raise it again - I don’t want the numbers to disappear and turn into pils. I can’t find out how I can stop this from happening

then, when I raise my arm again, I have to either tap the watch face or turn the watchband more toward me. Otherwise, the numbers won’t show and the pils remain. SO annoying and frustrating. I really like the Metropolitan wash face, but I can’t stand the way it changes to pils just because I drop my arm down

I understand from your reply that Apple is not listening to this forum. Can anyone out there help me stop the watch face from changing just because I drop my own down ?

hope this explains better. Any help would be appreciated. I don’t even want to go back to the Utility watch face are used for a long time because the recent IOS upgrade change that wash face so now it’s complications are coloured red and green and looks like a kids watch. Ridiculous

What you're showing, would appear to be normal behavior with the Always On Display. I don't believe this behavior can be changed.

One thing you could do would be to delete the face from your Face Library, then set up the face again, but I don't think you're going to see it display differently.

Another thing you could try would be to Force Restart your watch:

Press and hold BOTH the digital Crown and power buttons at the SAME TIME. Keep holding them until the screen goes dark and keep holding them until the Apple Logo appears, then let go.
