Change clock font on lock screen

iphone 13 mini, ios 16.1.1 just installed. Supposedly you can press on the lock screen and it will come up with a "Customize" button. It doesn't - it says "Unlock to edit" but when I unlock it I can't get to the lock screen to press on it, because the lock screen only shows when the phone is LOCKED.

No problem, I'll disable the passcode temporarily. So I follow the instructions go into Settings, and attempt to find the passcode "FaceID and Passcode" option. It doesn't exist. Deep breath. Watch the video. Nope. The video shows it as the next option after "Siri & Search" but there is no such option on my phone.

I finally figured out that if I change my lock screen photo, while I'm in the process of doing that it also allows me to change the font. It won't let me change the size, just the style and color, but that's at least an improvement. I didn't previously go into the change wallpaper thing because I really didn't want to change it, but it turns out that's exactly what had to be done. Problem solved - hopefully if anyone else doesn't have the options Apple says they should, this will work for them too.

Hi intoxyk8,

Thanks for contacting Apple Support Communities!

We understand that you're unable to change the font on your Lock Screen and you don't see any settings for Face ID.

Do you happen to have any configuration profiles installed on your iPhone? You can go to Settings > General to check. If so, this may be preventing you from accessing certain settings on your iPhone. You can learn more here: Install or remove configuration profiles on iPhone - Apple Support

You can also change the Lock Screen settings via your Wallpaper Settings as outlined here: Change the wallpaper on iPhone - Apple Support

Change the wallpaper
1. Go to Settings  > Wallpaper, then tap Add New Wallpaper.
The wallpaper gallery appears.
2. Do one of the following:
• Tap a button at the top of the wallpaper gallery—for example, Photos, People, Photo Shuffle, Emoji, or Weather—to design your wallpaper with a photo, an emoji pattern, a picture of your local weather, and more.
• Tap a wallpaper option in one of the categories—for example, Featured, Suggested Photos, or Photo Shuffle.
3. To customize a photo on your wallpaper, see Customize your Lock Screen photo.
4. Tap Add, then do one of the following:
• Choose whether to use the wallpaper on both the Lock Screen and Home Screen: Tap Set as Wallpaper Pair.
• Make further changes to the Home Screen: Tap Customize Home Screen. Tap a color to change the wallpaper color, tap the Photo On Rectangle button to use a custom photo, or select Blur to blur the wallpaper so the apps stand out.

We hope this helps.

Cheers!

Thanks for trying but that didn't help at all. I don't have any configuration profiles. I'm not trying to change the wallpaper/photo on the lock screen (which I know how to do); I'm trying to change the CLOCK FONT. When I updated to ios 16.1.1 it gave me the default font for the clock on the lock screen. It's much larger than the old one and I hate it. Absolutely HATE it.

Apple support says to press on the lock screen until a "Customize" button appears. I can press on the lock screen until **** freezes over; there is no "Customize" button. The other way of changing (supposedly) is to go to the "FaceID and Passcode" option under Settings. On my phone THERE IS NO SUCH OPTION. Refer to screenshot of Settings on my phone (above).
