Not receiving verification code to set up new iPhone

new iphone 14 can't get text message or facetime. when i try to add # it says it is sending verification code but not seeing one/

We see you reviewed this great article: If you have an issue with Messages or FaceTime after setting up your new iPhone.


Were you able to update the device to the latest iOS version 16.1.1? If not, follow the steps below:


  1. "Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
  2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
  3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
  4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
  5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do."


If you continue to experience the issue, and you've followed the steps in section "If you're still having an issue with Messages or FaceTime" we suggest contacting Apple support here: Get Support.
