OWC External hard drives spontaneously ejecting; come back online automatically

After updating to the latest Mac OS, my OWC external hard disk (the one with a form factor like a Mac mini) keep ejecting and mounting again, sometimes the error cause my Mac (Mac mini M1 and also a Mac studio M1) to reboot!!

When I take the Hard disk out and put in another external HD housing, it works fine. It seems to be the OWC USB I/F is crushing my computer. Anyone have similar problems??

Sounds like you are referring to a MiniStack Enclosure.

If so, then it could be something easy like the USB cable or something more serious like the enclosure’s chip.

As far as fixes, I would try a different USB cable and/or contact OWC to see if they have a solution.

Sadly if the enclosures chip has gone bad, then the best option is to just scrap the enclosure and use a different one.
