No they were not photos, but images I made in Photoshop and converted to tiffs in case Photoshop folded and I couldn't open them.
They were in Security in relocated items. I don't use the Cloud as I have an external hard drive for back up.
I was in the process of backing up the files.
Years of work from 2015 -21
Thanks
A visit to the Apple store genius bar seems to be indicated.
What is the state of your backup? Do you have TIme Machine?
"They were in Security in relocated items. "
This is not a good place to store user files.
Where were they before? Are all your other files still on the computer?
They would be in the same location as they were, Mac OS does not change file locations for ANYTHING except Mac OS itself and even then those are not noticeable by the user.
I am trying to see if they did a clean install...
LOL Got it, the problem with most user's questions is they don't provide adequate information and think we should just know what is going on.
No, just the latest images and a few from 2017.
Again, where are they?
In a regular folder?
In Photos?
Use spotlight to search for *.tiffs
Keith I used spotlight but got no results.
so have my images been stolen or thrown out?
should I get in a Professional?

I have Time Machine, but I don’t use it as I have an external hard drive.
I can’t remember where I was up to. Anthea
