I use my screensaver to display my Photos Library. It used to display my edited photos but now displays unedited versions. I contacted Apple Support about this and was assured that the problem was recognised and being worked on. Can anyone advise whether it has been fixed in Ventura?

As a test launch Photos with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Make it your System Photo Library, import some Photos and make obvious edits, i.e. add markups, and test to see if the same problem persists. Does it? This tells us if the problem is limited to your current library or is more wide spread.
If the problem persists in the test library log into a new, basic, admin user account, Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac, and repeat the test above. This tells us if the problem list limited to your user account or is system wide.
Just tested your situation on Ventura and it's the same. Tell Apple what missing features you'd like restored or new features added in Photos via Feedback - Photos - Apple
There are no guarantees that moving to the next macOS version will fix a problem. Sometimes that will fix the problem and sometimes that will seriously interrupt other parts of your daily work flow.
I would first try moving the desired photos into an Album or Smart Album in Photos, name it ScreenSaver and then choose that Album to use as the ScreenSaver.

Result was the screen saver displayed unedited photos so it appears then problem is system-wide.
I have not heard whether it has been fixed or not, you might ask on the Photo's board. I bet Leonie knows.
Thanks for the suggestion den.thed but creating a dedicated Screensaver Album in Photos didn't work - the screen saver still bizarrely insists on displaying unedited photos.

Old Toad: I tried your test suggestion. The result was the screen saver found no photos to display. I tried closing Photos and restarting but the result was the same.
