Upgrade to Monterey

Hello I am running 🏃‍♀️ Yosemite on my mac mini 2014 but want to upgrade to Monterey,I tried from the Apple store but it keeps saying wrong user id or password, but I have logged in here with the same details?

Has anyone got any ideas on how to get it please?

Thank you.

The issue with the Log into Apple Store maybe related to Apple Two Factor Authorization process as outlined in below link

Get a verification code and sign in with two-factor authentication - Apple Support (CA)

Except below

Use the code displayed on your trusted device

If you have a trusted device running iOS 9 and later, OS X El Capitan and later, iPadOS 13 and later, or watchOS 6 and later, the verification code is displayed automatically on your trusted devices.

In which case the previous suggestion to upGrade to at least El Capitan may resolve this issue of Apple Apps Store moving forwards

Yosemite to Monterey is a very big jump. It will probably be necessary to use a bootable installer.

You can download macOS installers here -> How to download macOS - Apple Support Be sure to use Safari.

Instructions for creating a bootable installer are here -> Create a bootable installer for macOS - Apple Support

but you are probably going to need a Mac that has El Capitan or later in order to do this.

The Apple ID that you use in the App Store may be different from the Apple ID you use to log into these communities. Did you ever have more than 1 Apple ID?
