BEST FCPX settings for uploading to Vimeo

Hi. I have a film, standard HD (ie not 4K) that I want to upload to Vimeo.

Their guidelines suggest using the "High Profile" H.264 setting instead of "Main Profile", and also "H.265 or High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) is the successor to H.264, which offers a smaller sized file with high visual quality at the cost of increased encoding time."

I can't see either of these settings, either in FCPX or Compressor. Are these available?

Thanks,

Steve

I've just uploaded some files, using the standard H264. Would you say it's worth the effort to take them down and re-upload in H265 or HEVC?
Thanks

IMHO, nobody is likely to tell the difference, perhaps not even you, the author.

As it is, the videos are always recompressed on the server end, and which version a particular user gets depends on the device, and the network connection.

It is sensible to wait it out a little longer. As always, early versions of a new OS can have bugs.

I am running Ventura, and I have no showstopping problems, but there are some issues.

I don't have Photoshop. I use FCP, but not in any professional environment, and I have not done anything heavy since Ventura.

I do have one third party application that I use and has not yet been updated, and fails to run. Fortunately, I could resort to an alternative.

Whatever you do, make sure to always have up to date backups before any such upgrade.

You can also test the waters first by installing on an external drive before commiting fully to the new OS.
