hardshell cover

Hi I recently bought a MBA m2, I was wondering if I should use a casetify hard shell case. It’s 1.8mm thinness. Will this damage my screen or destroy the hinge?

I advise against using any hard shell case with the new MacBook Airs. The new MacBook Airs have no internal cooling fan and they get rid of the heat by passing that heat to the case and radiating it into the air. Putting a plastic covering over it is like putting an overcoat on it since plastic is a very good heat insulator and may tend to cause it to overheat.

Instead, get a soft sleeve to put the MacBook into for carrying about or placing in a briefcase or pack. Generally, the only time you need protection is when carrying it around and not when using. The sleeve will also give a nice scratch free mat to place the MacBook on when using it.
